Promotion of voluntary blood Donation and safe blood transfusion service through awareness camps, seminars, workshops, school education programmes, Sub-divisional level certificate courses, College NSS Unit Education programmes. We organise blood donation camps throughout the year. AIDS awareness programmes, Thalasseamia Awareness and detection camps are some of our activities round the year.
Awareness camp : Every year we organize at least 70-80 awareness camps throughout North Bengal with the help of sister organizations and various govt. & private sectors offices. Specially trained faculty members attend those camps.
Seminar : Seminar organized from time to time with eminent persons, doctors & social workers having good experience in social service.
Workshop : We organise workshop for improvement of quality of existing members of our organization as well as members of other organizations for imparting advanced motivation strategies. This has resulted in increase in the number of dedicated volunteers
School education programme on scientific knowledge for blood donor motivation : Every year, we conduct school education programme for school students (class9 and above). It is a one hour lecture followed by interactive session. We presently are able to reach 20-25 schools annually for imparting scientific knowledge & AIDS awareness.
Certificate course on blood donor motivation & recruitment : We offer certificate course to various voluntary organizations of North Bengal throughout the year. Trainees should be passed 10 standards or above. The course contains scientific method of blood donors motivation & recruitment. Total 9 hours study which is spread over three days duration. Trained faculty members who can extensively travel various part of North Bengal are chosen as volunteers to conduct these courses.
Blood donation camp :We organise blood donation camps throughout the year. Some time we also organise special camps when there is acute scarcity at blood banks.
Exhibition : We conduct Exhibition on Voluntary Blood Donation on different occasions at different locations to spread the message in a scientific way
Mobile Voluntary Blood Donation Festival
We celebrate Mobile Voluntary Blood Donation Festival (Throughout North Bengal) every year on 23rd January, in association with 100 different voluntary, social, sports-based and business organizations of 6 districts of North Bengal.
Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, honorable chief minister of west Bengal, Mr. Kapil Dev, former Indian cricket captain, Smt. Mamata Shankar, eminent dancer and actress inaugurated the festivals at three different occasions.
Special attraction of this festival is a citation signed by celebrity personalities to all voluntary blood donors as recognition to their dedication for a humanitarian cause.
